Waterfalls and nature trail Caledonia

Equip and indulge in the fascinating Cypriot nature. The waterfalls Kalidonia were so named by the Scots when they visited the area, around 1878 and are located two kilometers north of the village of Platres. The Scots were dazzled by the beauty and resemblance of the waterfall to their land. (Caledonia was called Scotland in antiquity).

Kalidonia waterfalls are among the highest natural waterfalls we have in Cyprus. The water of the waterfall falls vertically from a height of 12m. The visitor can visit the area with the road to the waterfall or the footpath that leads to it near the High Tree.

If you wish to visit only the waterfalls you can start from the restaurant PSILO DENTRO and walk to the hill for 20-30 minutes.

Cedar Valley

This enchanting location is nestled in the Paphos Forest. It is located at the crossroads of Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos, a magical location. The mountain valley of cedars is nestled in a forest of Paphos and is typical for the thousands of Cedrus brevifolia endemic (cedars), which is closely related to the famous cedar of Lebanon. There are also some Calabria – Pinus brutia pines in the valley, which is popular for its quiet seclusion.

The area is crossed by the provincial road that connects the village of Panagia with the monastery of Panagia tou Kykkou and also unfolds at the cross of Psoka, an additional mountainous area where the “home” of the rare and shy wild (Ovis gmelini Ofion) is located – an endemic species of wild sheep found exclusively on the island.

The remains of the three bridges of the old Venetian mountain are an interesting attraction to see while enjoying a walk around the area.

Millomeri Waterfall

Millomeri waterfall is located in the southeastern area of Platres, one kilometer from the starting point of the nature path that leads to the waterfall.
