Basic information on package travel contracts:
The combination of travel services offered to you constitutes a package according to the provisions of the Organized Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Law. Therefore, you enjoy all the rights provided in the European Union for packages.
Coop Travel Ltd has full responsibility for the correct execution of the package as a whole. In addition, as required by law, Coop Travel Ltd ensures available protection to refund you the sums paid and, if the transfer is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event of insolvency.
In the event that the organizer transmits data to another trader no later than 24 hours after receiving the booking confirmation, the travel service provided by Coop Travel Ltd and its partners ( traders ) will be a package within the meaning of of Organized Travel and Related Travel Arrangements Law.
In these cases you enjoy all the rights provided in the EU for packages. Coop Travel Ltd has full responsibility for the correct execution of the package as a whole. Basic rights under the Organized Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Law:
— Travelers will receive all basic information about the package before concluding the package travel contract.
— There is always at least one merchant responsible for the proper execution of all travel services included in the contract.
— Travelers are given an emergency telephone number or details of a point of contact where they can contact the organizer or travel agent.
— Travelers may assign the package to another person upon reasonable notice and possibly for an additional fee.
— The price of the package can only be increased if costs increase (for example, fuel prices) and if this is expressly provided for in the contract and in any case no later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price increase exceeds 8% of the package price, the traveler may terminate the contract. If the organizer reserves the right to increase the price, the traveler has the right to reduce the price if the corresponding cost is reduced.
— Travelers may terminate the contract without a termination fee and receive a full refund if any of the essential elements of the package, other than the price, are materially modified. If, before the start of the package, the merchant responsible for the package cancels the package, travelers are entitled to a refund and compensation where appropriate.
— Travelers can cancel the contract without a cancellation fee before the start of the package in exceptional circumstances, for example if there are serious security problems at the destination which are likely to affect the package.
— In addition, travelers may at any time before the start of the package terminate the contract against a reasonable and justifiable termination fee.
— If, after the start of the package, significant parts of the package cannot be provided as agreed, the traveler should be offered suitable alternative arrangements, at no further cost. Travelers may terminate the contract without payment of any fee, in case of non-performance of the services in accordance with the contract and if this substantially affects the performance of the package and the organizer does not resolve the problem.
— Travelers are also entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation for damages in case of non-performance or incomplete performance of the travel services.
— The organizer must provide assistance if the traveler faces problems.
— To the event that the organizer becomes insolvent, the amounts paid are returned. In case the organizer becomes insolvent after the start of the package and if transportation is included in the package, repatriation of the travelers is ensured. Coop Travel Ltd has entered into an insolvency protection agreement with the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents (ACTA). Travelers can contact ACTA or, as the case may be, the Consumer Protection Service (Agapinoros 2, Megaro IRIS, 1421 Nicosia, tel. +357 22 200900, e-mail: [email protected]) if they are not provided services due to insolvency of Coop Travel Ltd.
